Types of Executables

Beta Executables

The newest developments can be obtained in the Beta versions, however they might not be completely stable towards all aspects of the software. Beta versions have only been tested on a limited set of test problems. On the download page, they are available in the folder latest_beta. Download always the newest version. Older versions are provided for reference only. See also our Release Cycle Plan and the Beta Release Notes.

Stable Executables

Stable versions have successfully passed an extended set of reference problems. They are created less often than Beta versions. On the download page, they are available in the folder latest_stable. Download always the newest version. Older versions are provided for reference only. See also our Release Cycle Plan and the Stable Release Notes.

Debug Executables

Debug executables are only uploaded to the folder folder 4_Debug_Executables on the ownCloud page as required. If you need a debug version to investigate a specific problem, please contact our Support.

Naming Scheme

• meshfree
• optional marker d if debug version
• version, e.g. R2020A for stable version, beta2020.01.0 for beta version, see above.
• included SAMG version with the short commit SHA, e.g. SAMG2896baadc
• mpi: MPI parallelization (incl. MPI shared memory)
• precision, so far only d=double, but s=single, q=quad also possible
• Operating systems (Rocky Linux is a 100% application binary compatible alternative to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS Linux)
  • rocky8: Rocky Linux 8
  • rocky9: Rocky Linux 9
  • ubuntu20.04: Ubuntu 20.04
  • ubuntu22.04: Ubuntu 22.04
  • Windows10
• architecture: x86 = 32 bit, x64 = (64 bit arch, 32 bit integers), x64i = (64 bit arch, 64 bit integers)
• compiler and mpi versions
• additional information (e.g. 'hawk')
